"It's hard to pick a favourite white wine, but this might just be it."
"I always take this Gruner to friends for dinner as it goes with everything and never fails to impress!"
How it's made
Award winning Grüner made by the fourth generation of the same family, using natural wine growing techniques. Vines on slopes with optimum exposure and grapes go through three harvest rounds by hand, on cool days only. Gently pressed immediately after harvest. Fermentation and temperature control on lees. Bottled in February the following year in order to maintain the natural carbonic acid.
In the glass
Pale gold, fresh apple and pear with white pepper nose. Lively, mineral, and full of peachy, citrus and grapefruit aromas with a herby, asparagus edge. Long, tropical fruit finish, again with fresh peppery, and light tobacco finish. An absolute gem.
Brothers Reinhard and Markus farm their family vineyard in Austria's Strass Valley. Perfect climate for the Grüner Veltliner grapes - with only three to five bunches per vine - meaning every grape is flavour packed. A Wine at Home favourite.
