Soft & Fruity

Hugo Truter works his magic to create a red that leans more towards the Pinot Noir elements of the grape - making it soft, easy to drink and with a fresh liveliness on the palate.

“Light, fruity, and not at all 'oaky' , this wine is how a good Pinotage should be, full of red berry flavours but not heavy as the acidity keeps it light, and a long smooth finish”

“Really enjoyed this juicy red fruit expression of this surprisingly elegant Pinotage.”

“We love this wine! It’s soft and round with great flavour, so lovely with food but also just as a nice drinking wine on its own.”

Classic South African red wine from the Truter family vineyards. Pinotage started life as a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault and does exceptionally well on the mountain slopes where it enjoys granite and sandstone soils with a high clay content, good acidity and good water retention. Not to mention a lot of sunshine! Grapes are de-stemmend and fermented over 8 days before being pressed and matured in a mix of French and American oak.

Deep crimson red with a purple rim. A juicy raspberry, intensely fruity nose which follows through on the palate and leads to spicy notes and a hint of oak. Lovely smooth finish.
