Light & Fruity

Highly recommended Gamay. Light and fruity with plenty of the flavours associated with the Loire. Lower in alcohol so a great choice for lighter meats, cheeses, charcuterie or vegetable dishes.

"Thanks so much for the delivery. This is the nicest Gamay we've ever tasted. Will definitely be ordering more."

"I love this wine. Light, fresh and very easy to drink. Has very quickly become my favourite."

We've worked with the Luneau family for many years and remain big fans of their tremendous work on the vines over 6 generations as well as their commitment to the environment. Winemaking doesn't get more traditional than this. Grapes are hand harvested at full ripeness, destemmed by hand and go through a cold maceration before a long fermentation in underground vats. The juice goes through daily punching and low pressing as well as malolactic fermentation. No chemicals are used.

Typical Gamay deep red colour with a floral, blackberry and raspberry nose. Floral attack on the palate with more red berry fruits and a very slighly spicy, smoky finish.

About the vineyard

Father and son Remy and Raphael Luneau are old friends and produce wines that are absolute stand outs across the board in their tiny Loire vineyard. The vines literally start outside their backdoor and they work relentlessly to ensure the grapes, the soil and the land are in perfect condition. Highly recommended Wine at Home special.
