One of the later vintages of Paolo Dania & Dino Riccomagno. A sommelier favourite and perfect example of the finesse and elegance in a true Barolo. Drinking superbly, we cannot recommend this vintage highly enough. Grapes grown on 30 year old vines in Serralunga d’Alba using the guyot growing system at an altitude of 400m, south/south west facing. No chemical fertilisers and traditional methods used. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 2 years and undergoes malolactic fermentation.
In the glass
Deep garnet red with violet hue. Complex and intense with dark fruit, mocha, mint, pine and spice aromas with liquorice and cinnamon undertones. Fabulously well structured, powerful and well balanced - packs a fruity punch with plenty of chocolate, spice and hints of tobacco on the palate. Long, spicy finish. A rare gem.
