Pedregal Tannat Roble 2015, Antigua Bodega Stagnari
A fine choice for Wine Enthusiasts
For anyone looking for a wine from off the beaten track, this highly unusual , beautifully structured Tannat from Uruguay will make an ideal choice. Grower Virginia Stagnari and her children run this beautiful vineyard in the shallow, sandy clay soils of La Paz on a terroir which is remarkable for its natural pink granite deposits. Surrounded quarries mean the vineyard benefits from excellent drainage, which benefits the intensity and concentration of the fruit. Grapes carefully selected by plot, macerated for 10 - 15 days and aged in American oak for 6 months before bottling.
Intense ruby colour with red fruit aromas, and smoky notes. Touches of vanilla and spice add to the complexity of the fruit flavours and mature tannins in this 2015 vintage.
