Traditional Rose de Loire made by one of the region's finest growers. David Maugin works in harmony with nature, using sustainable agriculture on his tiny 3 acre vineyard. All the work on the vines is carried out by hand and the grapes provide low yields. Known for its depth of both colour and flavour, this is an excellent example of the appellation. While the recent trend for very pale rose is interesting, it's good to remember that these more traditional styles also have a place in the history and culture of the wine. This is such a perfect example of real rosé and a great stepping stone for lovers of white wine, wanting to move into reds.
