This is the second wine from prestigious Chateau Meyney, one of the oldest in Bordeaux, and producing wine since 1662. Incredible value, with all the wine making skill that goes into all their vintages.
In the glass
Deep inky purple colour with plenty of ripe red berries with warming hints of nutmeg. Exceptional structure, fine, elegant wild gooseberry and blueberry aromas with roast coffee bean undernotes. Smooth tannins with a long, elegant finish.
Grapes are hand picked at optimum ripeness at the vineyard and fermented at controlled temperatures for 26 days. No pre-fermentation maceration and a short post-fermentation maceration (2 days) before being aged for 12 months in French oak.
