Jean-Pierre Guyon is a winemaker's winemaker. Always found tending his 8 hectares, and producing wines of extraordinary elegance and style. The vineyard is run according to organic and biodynamic principles and he has his own highly labour intensive ways of managing the vines to allow maximum light and aeration.

In the Glass

Deep garnet colour with a complex array of rose, violets, truffle and liquorice on the nose leading to deep, fleshy fruit flavours with a richly textured palate, typical of Guyon. Enormous finesse and a long, harmonious finish.

Fourth generation winemakers of excellence farming only 8 hectares using traditional, chemical free, organic, biodynamic agriculture.

Vines are pruned as near as possible to budding time to respect the sap flow, the surface of the soil is ploughed, excess budes removed, the vines deleafed in a green harvest and the canopies tied to permit air and light to circulate freely. In the winery, the grapes are treated with a hands-off approach with whole clusters and wild yeasts from the vineyard employed for fermentation. Each plot of Pinot Noir is kept as a seperate ferment with oxygen gently introduced through pumping-over.

Guyon takes into account lunar cycles at all points of the life cycle of the vines as well as adhering to the biodynamic principals governing specific times to work on the fruit, flowers, roots or leaves.
