Arguably the most famous appellation in Bordeaux, Margaux produces wines of exceptional quality and elegance. Chateau Tayac 2019 is drinking extremely well but has plenty of cellar life so enjoy now or set aside.
In the glass
Deep ruby colour with notes of blueberry, blackcurrant and eucalyptus on the nose. Deliciously juicy character with plenty more black fruit flavours and an aromatic finish.
The Portet family have been producing wine on this characteristically gravelly soil for four generations with innovation and dynamism and it shows in their wines. Wine is fermented in cement-lined vats with a cold pre fermentation period followed by temperature control at 28 degrees.
