Christophe Pichon is one of the Rhone valley's most interesting growers. He farms entirely organically and without mechanicals - using horses in the vines and traditional methods. The 2016 is in its perfect drinking window but still has plenty of cellar life.
In the glass
Deep, dark red with an explosion of blackberry on the nose. Rich, opulent palate that opens into fresh dark plums, liquorice and hints of olive in the glass. Long, elegant and concentrated finish.
Pichon harvests small yields from old vines that produce grapes that are concentrated and show enormous typicality. The grapes are harvested by hand and selected on sorting tables. The wine spends 10 months in 3 year old oak barrels.
