Exceptional vintage 2015

A Morgon 2015 is a rare treat for lovers of Beaujolais as this was a vintage year in the region. This offering from Renaud Bodillard, is an absolute delight and typical of the heartier style Gamay made in this most revered corner of the Beaujolais hills. Drinking well now with continued cellar life.

100% hand harvested Gamay grapes are produced using organic farming methods without the use of chemical pesticides. The Bodillard family have worked these south facing plots for 5 generations and their work on the vine is exceptional. The vines are bush trained in goblet form, to best respect the environment. The grapes are picked in bunches which are put whole into the vat to undergo carbonic maceration before spending 17 days at a low temperature in the vat. After the pressing, the wine is aged in barrels for 10 months. No addition of sulphites before bottling.

Dark, rich red which is packed with a symphony of deep plum fruit with earthy undertones. Deliciously smooth tannins and a symphony of cherry, stone fruit, hints of dried flower and spice with a long, harmonious finish.
