"Unusual red, went well with some spicy sausages and grilled veg."
How it's made
Stunning organic vineyard in the beautiful Portuguese region of Tejo. Maria Cordeiro hand harvests the grapes which are packed into small trays to avoid damage. They undergo a long maceration to extract all the flavour of the fruit. The wine is partly aged in French oak before very gentle filtration. Extremely well integrated and good expression of the indigenous Tinta Roriz grape.
In the glass
Ripe, strawberry jam and spice with a fresh floral attack. Blackcurrant, cherries, plums and sweet spice notes. Persistent, round and harmonious structure.
Maria Cordeiro has worked tirelessly over the last decade to produce Portuguese wines using indigenous grape varieties that are beautifully made, full of personality and that are fully organic. Her stunning vineyard in the Tejo region enjoys long hours of sunshine and all the grapes are hand picked at optimum ripeness to provide really fruity wines.
