The Trebbiano grape has been used widely across Italy since the time of the Romans - it produces, light, easy drinking white wines and is sometimes used in blends to add freshness. The Trebbiano Romagnolo used here is typical of the region - and considered to be one of the best of the variety, for it's fresh and floral characteristics.
The vineyard was started by Odoardo Dalfiume in 1949 and is now in the hands of his grandchildren - who continue to innovate and improve. The vineyard uses solar panels alongside the traditional methods put in place by their grandparents, to protect and preserve the ecosystem. They still use a crusher roller which preserves the fruit, adding to the body of the wine - as well as very soft pressing - again to preserve all the fruit flavours. The wine kept on its lees in order to extract all the flavour of the fruit before bottling.
