A fine red wine from José da Mota Capitão, a rising star in the Portuguese wine world. He's made a name for himself by bringing back to life, some of the forgotten grape varieties of the region, to produce wines of exceptional character, freshness and vivacity.

In the glass

Intense, deep garnet colour with violet reflections. Expressive nose, with the trademark blackberry, plum and blackcurrant aromas we expect from Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional grape varieties, underpinned with plenty of sweet spice, coffee, and a hint of graphite. This is a full-bodied wine with firm, dense, well-polished tannins, while the natural acidity provides fruit and freshness. Beautifully elegant finish with ageing potential.

A beautiful balance of a third Touriga Franca, a third Touriga Nacional and a third Petit Verdot grapes that are grown on the special clay loam soils which boast high levels of calcium and silica. Grapes are hand harvested and selected again on sorting tables before fermentation in oak vats. Aging takes place in French oak barrels for 24 months and a further 12 months in the bottle.
