Made at altitude by award-wining winemaker Ricardo Valasco Pla
Winemaker Ricardo Velasco has transformed the high altitude vineyards of Valtravieso, their old vines, indigenous grape varieties and tough terrain into one of Spain's most unique and interesting terroirs. The grapes are grown using a goblet and trellis system, the wine is made using indigenous yeasts in the traditional way with at least 12 months in 90% French oak and 10% in American oak barrels, followed by 12 months further aging in the bottle.
Celebrated winemaker Ricardo Velasco Pla works his special kind of magic at the high altitude vineyards of Ribera del Duero. These are wines that capture the pure fruity, mineral, elegance that defines the very best of the region.
