Gran Valtravieso D.O. Ribera del Duero 2020, Valtravieso

This is the flagship wine of Valtravieso and the attention to detail at every stage is what ensures the sublime quality of this vintage. Grapes are very carefully selected from a majority of limestone soil, with a small percentage from clay soil. Harvesting is carried out carefully and the grapes laid into small boxes to avoid damage. Each plot is vinified separately and a small percentage of stem is added to the vines from clay soils to provide the unique elegance and structure of the wine. Ageing takes place for 12 months in French oak barrels (50% new) and a further 12 months in concrete tanks and 12 months in the bottle.
