This Pinotage from the Truter Family is a glorious wine. Having tasted in the past various pinotage wines I was a little wary when opening but what a wonderful surprise this wine was. Light, fruity, and not at all 'oaky' , this wine is how a good pinotage should be, full of red berry flavours but not heavy as the acidity keeps it light, and a long smooth finish. Oh forgot to say the aromas are heavenly and remind me of long warm summers.
Thank you so much for this lovely review! It's true that Pinotage has had a bad rap - but this just flies in the face of all that - we love this vineyard - absolute professionals who work with passion and commitment and the results are definitely in the drinking!!!
Really enjoyed this juicy red fruit expression of this surprisingly elegant Pinotage, some i've tasted in the past can be overpowered by the oak and smoke but not this... love the fact your wines support small artisan growers that do what they do for love in a way that respects nature
Thank you for your review of this much underrated wine! This version from the tremendous Truter family is just packed full of fruit, but with such a lightness of touch. A great wine for people looking for something a little less heavy.
We love this wine! It’s soft and round with great flavour, so lovely with food but also just as a nice drinking wine on its own. It’s not at all heavy which is great, as we’re not into strong alcohol content. Wine at Home are a tremendous company. They support small independent growers, are exceptionally knowledgeable, provide great value for money and faultless customer service . Highly recommended. We don’t buy wine anywhere else now.
Thank you for your lovely review! The Truter family produce such super wines. Harmony and balance.
