What does Crianza mean on a Rioja label?

Crianza is applied to wines that are matured for at least 2 years at the winery before being released. Part of this time must be spent in part in the bottle.

How it's made

Made from estate-grown grapes harvested at optimal ripeness. Siblings Juan Luis, Maite and Diego Quiroga work closely together in their sixth-generation family vineyard. The wine is fermented in stainless steel with daily pump-overs and extended maceration for depth and colour. Aged 12–18 months in French and American oak, with racking every six months. After blending, the wine matures further in concrete tanks in the estate’s underground cellar, enhancing quality and complexity.
