About the Book

At the heart of Great Circle is Marian Graves, a fearless aviator determined to forge her own path in a world that seeks to confine her, alongside Hadley Baxter, a modern-day actress preparing to portray Marian on screen. Through their parallel stories, Shipstead explores themes of freedom, identity, ambition, and what it means to live a purposeful and sometimes dangerous life.

Wine Pairing:

We chose the superb Malbec Gran Reservado to accompany this book, not least because we feel sure it's what our protagonist, Marian Graves might have chosen as a favourite glass, but also because of its international feel. Made by multi award-winning winemaker Hervé Fabre, who made his own fearless journey, alongside his wife Diane, from his family home in Bordeaux to pioneer the growth of Malbec in the hills of Mendoza.
